COVID-19 Preparedness, Campus Rec Guidelines & TKD Training

I understand the uncertainty of the COVID-19 situation is challenging for everyone. As a result, during Spring Break (March 14 – 21) there will not be any Taekwondo at UIUC club training practices.

The club warm-up sequence is available on the club website for those that want to practice social distancing, stay active over the break and or will not be returning to campus after Spring Break.

To minimize health and safety risks to Illinois students, faculty, staff and community, please see Campus Rec’s website for a temporary facility, program and event schedule during and after Spring Break: https://campusrec.illinois.edu/. Additional information about how the University is responding to COVID-19 available here: https://covid19.illinois.edu/

According to Campus Recreation, after Spring Break club sports practices can continue as our club has a small membership (less than 50 people). However, we will forego for now the traditional handshake at the end of free sparring matches and take other precautions. Also, I ask that all instructors and students refrain from coming to class if they are experiencing any symptoms at all. If Campus Rec changes guidelines and close facilities we will follow their guidance and not hold in-person classes until further instructed.
Finally, the March 28th University of Wisconsin Madison black belt evaluation was postponed until later in the year.
Enjoy your Spring Break and Stay Healthy!
