About the Author

Hello world.

This is my first blog post as a journalism student, so it’s pretty exciting! As a class we have been asked to write an “About Me” page. I am not an extraordinarily shy person by any means, but I am also not an extraordinary person by my definition, so I become quite bashful when it comes to writing about myself. I will try to make this as compelling as possible by using flowery words that make me sound both intelligent and interesting, as well as talking about myself in third-person (just because).

Rebecca Diane Johnson is the eldest child of three. She has two younger sisters who are satanic blessings and parents who would do anything and everything for her. Very recently she turned twenty years old, and her best friend woke her up by exclaiming, “Get excited, this is the decade you get a job, and get married, and start your own family!” Needless to say, it was a bit of a reality check for a (not-so) young Rebecca. She is but a sophomore in college, but notices ever so frequently that the people around her are figuring their lives out much sooner than she. All the girl ever thinks about is traveling and seeing the world; living life to the fullest. But alas, she must settle with a mass of debt and a college degree before she can start the fun stuff in this crazy life. She vows that she will never grow up, and anyone that knows her believes this statement to be true. All jokes aside, Rebecca is a very serious student and is currently on the hunt for a summer internship, with the hopes that it will reinforce her desire to go into a subfield of communication. She will thrive and succeed in whatever she ends up doing after graduation (or at least, that’s what her parents tell her). Stay tuned!
