- Interested in optics?
The Amplify Optics Immersion Program https://www.optica.org/en-us/events/topical_meetings/amplify_optics_immersion_program/ 15-18 October 2022, will bring 50 Black undergraduate or graduate physics and engineer students to participate in a program Saturday-Tuesday during FiO. They will have some special programs and be able to experience parts of FiO. We aim to bring them into the light and get them excited about a future in optics.
For the program, students are requested to pay a $100* registration fee (though grants are available), and with that, they will receive from Optica:
• Programming that will introduce attendees to research and career opportunities in optics
• Airfare to/from the conference (or appropriate travel options for locals)
• Lodging with check-in of 15 October and check-out of 18 October
• Students will share a room with another student of the same gender
• Registration for Frontiers in Optics, Optica’s annual meeting
• Most meals including dinner on 15 October, all meals on 16-17 October, and breakfast and lunch on 18 October.
*This fee will be covered for UIUC students if they are accepted to the program
