Universities Fighting World Hunger (UFWH) invites you to submit a proposal to present at the 13th Annual UFWH Summit, which will be held on March 16-17, 2018 in Urbana, Illinois at the University of Illinois. The theme of the Summit is “Unify for a Hunger Free World”.

The 2018 UFWH Summit will bring together leaders and innovators who are creating and implementing creative solutions to food insecurity and related issues. Students will engage with and learn from experts in a variety of fields related to hunger, including social justice, social enterprise, public health, and non-profit management. Using design thinking as an underlying theme, the Summit will begin with a session where students will interact with university leaders attending the Presidents United to Solve Hunger (PUSH) Forum to discuss food insecurity and hunger on college campuses.

We encourage a wide range of proposals across the spectrum of food loss and waste, hunger, and poverty solutions. Sessions will address solutions ranging from local and regional to national and international programs and solutions; session formats will include presentations, panels, displays, and poster sessions. At the conclusion of the forum, students will leave with a better understanding of the issues to empower them to develop and implement creative solutions and ideas for hunger-related projects and in their home communities.
