Good morning, Illini! I am Junior majoring in Broadcast Journalism and minoring in Leadership Studies. I was born and raised in Matteson, Il, a southern suburb from Chicago and my family consists of 5 people- my mom, dad, brother, sister, brother, and my dog, Cody! I am heavily involved on campus! I am the president of two organizations: 100 Strong, a retention initiative and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Alpha Nu Chapter, a news reporter for the Daily Illini, and a member of the National Association of Black Journalists. My hobbies include: watching basketball and movies, working out, and hanging out with friends and family. Post-graduation, as I intend to pursue my passion for Journalism, I aspire to be a news anchor or a radio host. I am enthusiastic, persistent, and I live each day like it is my last. Although journalism is a competitive field, I am more than confident that I will achieve my goals! As I am in the latter half of my undergrad career, I am excited to enhance the journalism skills that will get me closer to my aspirations; I believe GMI will help me get there! I have been apart of Good Morning Illini since my sophomore year and I am happy that I am apart of the production team.

Good Morning Illini! I am a freshman studying journalism here at the
The University of Illinois. I was born and raised in LaGrange Park, Illinois. Before college, I was the sports manager at my high school radio station, WLTL LaGrange. I was a part of the broadcast team, which broadcast football, basketball, and baseball games.
I currently help the Illini hockey broadcast team as a color commentator. Along with
broadcasting Illini games, I am a radio DJ for WPGU. I have a morning show every Sunday from 10 to 11 where I play 1 hour of all Grateful Dead music called “Wake Up to Find the Grateful Dead.” I am a huge deadhead and I’m super excited to play their music every weekend. I love to be on the air and would like to pursue more radio work in the future. I have never been a part of the morning TV show and I am really excited about this new challenge. As a freshman, I am looking forward to exploring more events around campus as a part of GMI. I can’t wait to be apart of the Good Morning Illini team!
