History and journalism have close connection to each other. What we see the journalism at present will become a history in the future. Therefore, journalism plays a very important role in history. As for future generation, journalism may become a source for them to get to know history. Also, history is a very useful source for improving journalism development. History needs journalism to be recorded. Journalism needs history to make it better. As a result, history and journalism have a mutual-beneficial relationship. As far as I am concerned, journalism is a kind of story-telling. However, such kind of story-telling is based on the actual fact. On April 19, it was reported that the State of New Jersey is going to suspend the license of a prominent psychologist, Barry Helfmann. He is a leader in the field of psychology. Barry Helfmann was accused of failing to prevent details of patients’ mental health diagnoses and treatments records. ProPublica is an independent and non-profit newsroom. As for this issue, ProPublica identified 24 court cases from 2010 to 2014 seeking payments in which patients’ names, diagnoses and the treatments they received were listed in documents. The news used fake, lifted quotes, exaggerated information and errors to report the story. According to what we learned in this week, media ethnics should report the truth. However, this news reflects the problem that the news coverage did not report truth. What’s worth, such kind of faked news coverage caused great harm to the British man. News coverage should be reported based on what truly happened.

From this news, we also can come to the conclusion that social media has already become a very important source for news reporting. It means that social media can help news reporting to get more information. In this news, the criminal is only 14 years old. It asks us to increase awareness of paying attention to youth use of social media. What we should remember is that we should take advantage of social media to do more benefits to our life.
