Prof. Kim will review applications where candidates have indicated “Robotics” as their area of interest and Prof. Kim as their faculty preference. If the candidate aligns well with KIMLAB, we will reach out to her/him for an interview meeting.
We are primarily reviewing applications submitted via the UIUC ECE department.
Undergraduate Students
A student at the undergraduate level typically enrolls in the Independent Study or Senior Thesis course to collaborate with us at KIMLAB. To qualify, it is advisable to have a minimum GPA of 3.7, and students are expected to commit to 2 or more credit hours (1 credit hour =~5 hours/week). If you’re interested, please reach out to Prof. Kim 2-3 weeks before the semester starts.
