Jimmy Kimmel’s Owns Twitter (Once Again)

According to Megan Walsh over at Romper, Jimmy Kimmel has struck social media gold during his time as host of the 89th Annual Oscars. The article says that Kimmel tweeted at President Donald Trump live at the ceremony. In his tweets, Kimmel told the president that Actress Meryl Streep said hello to The President through the use of a hashtag. Previously, actress Meryl Streep had spoken out against the President at a previous award show.

Kimmel’s tweets attracted much attention almost instantly. Many Twitter users began to reply and find creative ways to discuss what Kimmel had done at the oscars. Some users even used gifs to show their humor about Kimmel’s attempted interaction with The President. Needless to say, Twitter users were quite amused with the way that Kimmel was able to poke some fun at the usual political overtones at this year’s award shows.

At the time of posting this column, President Trump has not replied to Jimmy Kimmel’s tweets. There is a high possibility that the President’s silence is due to his attendance to The Governor’s Ball. Regardlessly, The President’s response is being eagerly awaited.

Much Ado About Me

Although I am merely a sophomore in Advertising here at the University of Illinois, my life has already been quite cool. I was born in 1997 to two wonderful parents, Steve and Darla Sigmon. I have one sister, Sarah Sigmon, who is the best possible sister that I could ask for. Overall, my family is very important to me and I love them more than words can describe.

Coming to the University of Illinois was very important to me. I grew up only 30 minutes from campus so this university has left quite an impression on me. The day that I was accepted to go here to the University of Illinois, it was a fantastic occasion. There was no way that I would ever attend another university.

My time on campus is spent being an RA at Snyder Hall and working as a blogger for the admissions department. I love my major as well. Advertising is what I love because it is a space that allows me to be creative yet also understand the business component of everything that goes on with my favorite companies. With all of these aspects, I am very encouraged about the future and I can’t wait to see what it has in store.
