Food Security
Dr. Arends-Kuenning’s research focuses on the household level, whether those households are agricultural producers or consumers of food. Ameliorating post-harvest loss in a cost-effective way increases the food supply and also increases the income of small holders. On the consumption side, investigating the determinants of food secure and food insecure households helps governments to focus welfare programs on the food insecure.
