Assignments

While all ECE students are encouraged to attend, ECE James Scholars complete ECE 200 once per year; if not taken in the fall semester, the course will need to be taken in the spring semester to maintain James Scholar status. There are approximately 12 meeting dates per semester and you may miss up to three of them. On dates where Senior Thesis presentations require a two-hour period, enrollment might be taken each hour to provide additional opportunities to meet the minimum attendance requirement.

ECE 200 students are required to write an end-of-semester report describing briefly:

  1. Their favorite ECE Explorations presentation of the semester
    • include the reasons you liked the presentation most, and
  2. Their favorite presentation in the ECE Research Symposium (Senior Thesis presentations to take near the semester’s end…see the schedule),
    • include the reasons why you liked this presentation most, or
  3. If you are unable to attend the Senior Thesis presentations (sometimes an issue in the fall semester), please complete a writeup of two other ECE Explorations seminars that you attended.

The report described above should be limited to 2 pages and be submitted to GradeScope by 5pm on the last Friday of Finals Week, https://www.gradescope.com. Generic reports (those lacking detail expected if you were present) will be rejected. Failure to submit the assignment by 5 PM on the last Friday of Finals Week or to meet the minimum attendance requirement, will result in a U grade in this S/U course.
