COVID Protocols

The University of Illinois and NCSA are committed to the safety of all participants. In accordance with Phase 5 of the Restore Illinois plan, invited guests and visitors are welcome on campus. Visitors from outside the campus community are encouraged to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 if they are able to do so.

While masks are not mandatory, they are strongly recommended. We will have a limited supply of masks available for those who may need them. Our intention is to align with the guidelines and policy set forth by the University of Illinois.  If you have symptoms or have tested positive, please isolate and do not attend the event.

If you learn you have covid during the event, please let the organizers know, so that others can take appropriate precautions.

The NCSA facilities include:

  • Main Auditorium (Room 1122) – 196-seat
  • 2 Breakout rooms (Room 1030 & 1040) – 50-seat each
  • Atrium/Lobby – max capacity of 86 for seated event, 250 non-seated 
  • 2 additional breakout conference rooms with ~20 seat capacity

All the rooms are virtual and/or hybrid capable. From the NCSA lobby, there is easy access to outdoor space for maskless conversations. The main atrium is open and well ventilated.
