Chieh-Li Chin

Julian (Chieh-Li) Chin is a Visiting Research Scientist working at the School of Information Sciences. Her research interest mainly focuses on the use of information technology in complicated settings to support communication. She also studies practical data regulations for researchers to work with human-centered and online data. She earned her master degrees from the School of Information Sciences and the Department of Computer Science at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She completed her BS degree in Business Administration from the National Taiwan University.


Jinlong Guo

Kenney (Jinlong) Guo is a doctoral student at the School of Information Sciences. His research focuses on using text mining and semantic technology to synthesize evidence from scientific literature. His recent work focuses on extracting knowledge claims in randomized clinical trials to automatically generate evidence summaries.


Aseel Addawood

Aseel is a PhD candidate at the Illinois Informatics Institute. Her research focuses on using social computational methods to understand individuals behavior and attitudes in social media. Her current interest involve understand information sharing behavior of individuals in Twitter while discussing a controversial issues. More about her can be found Here.


Shadi Rezapour

Shadi is a second year Ph.D. student at the School of Information Sciences at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She is conducting research on topics related to natural language processing, machine learning, and information retrieval. Her research is mainly focused on developing, implementing, evaluating and applying a theory-driven, computational solution for assessing the impact of issue-focused information products on people, groups, and society. Shubhanshu Mishra

Shubhanshu is a PhD student at the UIUC iSchool, working on the application of machine learning and statistical analysis techniques, for the purpose of information extraction from social data such as social media posts, and scholarly articles. Ming Jiang

Ming Jiang is a 3rd-year Ph.D. student, who is advised by Prof. Jana Diesner at the School of Information Sciences. Her research is in developing computational methods to help people to better understand the propagation of information from public discourse for social issues. Her current interests include natural language processing, text data mining, and machine learning.
