Biography

I am a current PhD student, under Dr. Kelly Swanson’s supervision, with current research investigating the effects of antibiotics on the microbiome and its recovery after cessation in both canines and felines. I have conducted prior work investigating the effects of a novel milk oligosaccharide biosimilar with subsequent antibiotic administration on microbiome recovery. More recently, I performed a couple experiments testing the effects of specialized gastrointestinal diets and the dietary response following antibiotic administration. With my research, I aim to better understand gut health and disease in companion animals and how to apply nutrition to better assist in recovery.
