Biography

Angela Zilinger is originally from Oak Forest, IL. She later ended up in Urbana-Champaign where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Animal Sciences at UIUC. In her time as an undergraduate, she gained clinical experience shadowing at UIUC’s Small Animal Emergency Clinic and volunteering shifts at the Wildlife Medical Clinic. In search of laboratory experience, she joined Dr. Maria Godoy’s companion animal nutrition lab in 2019, which sparked her passion for the field. This led her to pursue her master’s degree in Dr. Godoy’s lab. She will focus her research on the effects of S-adenosyl-L-methionine supplementation on exercise-induced oxidative stress in dogs.
