Juliana Paschoalin Nogueira
Juliana grew up in a small town on the country side of São Paulo, Brazil. From a young age, Juliana always demonstrated a huge passion for animals and health. This pushed her towards earning a B.S. degree in Veterinary Medicine at the University of Sao Paulo, Brazil. Since the second year of veterinary school, she was amused with nutrition and clinical nutrition of dogs and cats. From that time until the end of her undergraduate, Juliana became an intern at the Dogs and Cats Nutrology Service at the Veterinary Hospital. In her senior year, Juliana was contemplated with a fellowship to study abroad due to excellent academic performance, which brought her to Dr. Godoy’s laboratory, in August 2016. Thus, Juliana decided to continue her education at University of Illinois and joined Dr. Godoy’s lab as a graduate research assistant. Her research investigates the impact of prebiotics and fibers on gastrointestinal health of adult dogs. For the future, Juliana wants to enter the pet food industry and apply her knowledge in nutrition and clinical nutrition.
