Le Château de la Voix 2015

— A two-week intensive period of musical skill development

for aspiring professional classical artists —

 GENERAL INFORMATION

Le Château de la Voix (The Castle of Voice) Vocal Institute offers opportunities for aspiring vocal artists in advanced studies with a faculty of professional singers, vocal coaches, conductors and stage directors. Students receive coaching in song literature as well as oratorio and opera repertoire.

Our program will feature seminar sessions for singers and collaborative pianists in diction, foreign language, coaching, private instruction, master class presentations, Yoga for Singers, Vocal Pedagogy, Aural Skills for Singers, guest artist presentations in music business, and a broad spectrum of performance opportunities to all of our participants.

The performance opportunities this year include Soirée Recital, opera scenes performance, and two fully staged operas both accompanied by chamber orchestra.

All activities of Le Château de la Voix will occur on the campus of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in Smith Memorial Hall.

We are honored to launch a companion initiative which will also encompass the full weekend, Le jardin de l’art et de la musique, translated as The garden of art and music.

This event which takes place on Saturday, July 18 and Sunday, July 19
(prior to our Academy presentation) from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.will be presented as an Arts festival and celebration that will incorporate a broad spectrum of local and state-wide performers in dance, instrumental music, choral presentations, solo vocalists,and visual artists in painting and free-hand portraits.
