Bodony has been honored and will give the keynote talk at the 16th ERCOFTAC SIG 33 Workshop on Progress in Flow Instability, Transition, and Control, from June 30–July 2, 2025. More details to follow.

J. “Data-driven model reduction via non-intrusive optimization of projection operators and reduced-order dynamics,” accepted for publication in the SIAM Journal on Applied Dynamical Systems. Building on our group’s success in modeling ablative systems and studying linear stability, we combined those capabilities to study the physical origins of differential ablation, found on many ablative systems but as-yet not fully explained. We are excited to work with our DoE partners at Sandia National Laboratory.

Professor Bodony delivered the keynote presentation at the APS March 2024 Meeting in the Focus Session on Extreme-Scale Computational Science Discovery in Fluid Dynamics and Related Disciplines. (Title slides is at left.) This collective work is solely the output of several excellent students and post-docs, listed at left.

Immediately following the 2024 AIAA/CEAS Aeroacoustics Meeting, an ERCOFTAC 39 Symposium will discuss Coherent Structures in Aeroacoustics. Bodony is part of the symposium’s Scientific Committee. Check out the CFP and consider submitting a contribution!

Bodony, collaborators, and students will present our research on jet noise, FTSI, numerical methods, and plasma torch modeling at the 2024 AIAA SciTech meeting in Orlando, FL. Come check us out!
