The Autism Program (TAP) typically has 8 -12 internship positions available each semester for credit (HDFS 455 ). We accept graduate and undergraduate students. Undergraduates must have second semester Sophomore, Junior or Senior status. The internship will be taken for 2-4 credit hours-requiring 6-12 hours/week working in our resource center:

We are currently accepting applications for Spring, 2025. Applications are due by October 13th, 2024. There will be an interview process to determine who gets an internship position.
It is an internship course with a few assignments designed to learn about Autism and Autism supports Students will learn about:
- Services and agencies that help children, families and individuals throughout Champaign County
- Developing visual supports and educational materials for families and professionals
- Play Groups and classroom supports for preschool aged children on the spectrum
- New Diagnosis Orientations
- Consultations for families and service providers
- The Illinois Neurodiversity Initiative (INI)
