Location Reliability

Despite academic efforts, today’s spectrum sensing techniques do not yet meet the desired performance specified by many regulatory bodies.  The US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) thus suggested a location-database approach in which each secondary user connects to a database in order to verify that it does not interfere with any nearby primary users.  The secondary user’s location service thus should be trustworthy if its sensing performance is unreliable.  At ReCognize, we are designing protocols that can detect GPS spoofing; as well as localization techniques that can provide reliable location services.
