Quadruple Rainbow Provides an Excellent Scene

While this picture is a few days old, evidence of a quadruple rainbow cannot go unnoticed. Taken in Long Island, NY, this phenomenon puts the more common primary and secondary rainbow events to shame.

For the other two rainbows, you must have a body of water (preferably calm) behind the observer. A meteorologist for the Earth System Research Laboratory at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) believes this is definitely plausible since the photo was taken near water.
