RussRussel Emmons, M.S.
Russell is a PhD student in the Exercise and Stem Cell Physiology Laboratory. He completed his BSE in Exercise Science and MSE in Exercise Physiology at the University of Kansas. His research interest lies in understanding the intrinsic factors regulating hematopoietic stem cells and the bone marrow environment. Additionally, how exercise affects the bone marrow niche and if dysfunction associated with disease or age can be attenuated. Russell’s personal interests include resistance training, video games, and‏ culturing cells.

Grace Niemiro, B.Sc.

Grace Niemiro is a PhD student in the Department of Kinesiology and Community Health. She graduated in May 2014 from UIUC with her BS in chemistry. When is not in the lab, she enjoys cooking, baking, and working out.
