Become a DiversityEd Marketing Intern!

Diversity & Social Justice Education – a program of OIIR – is looking for talented, motivated students looking to help enhance transformative educational opportunities to the University of Illinois campus. The Marketing Intern will assist DiversityEd develop office publications (web, social media, and print based), coordinating DiversityEd marketing campaigns, managing office communications, coordinating the photography and recording of programs, and developing educational materials. Additionally, the marketing intern will provide some general office assistance to DiversityEd. Duties include: maintaining social marketing, web, and print publicity; designing educational materials; coordinating DiversityEd marketing campaigns; coordinating the photography and recording of programs; and general office assistance.

Skills & experience: Strong graphic design skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Suites (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, etc.); ability to maintain confidentiality when working with student information and evaluations; excellent verbal and written communication skills. Marketing experience (both in publication design and communication); organization; typing and word processing; attention to detail; ability to work both independently and collaboratively. A portfolio of design work may be requested upon interview. FWS eligibility required.

 Start date: August 2013

 Compensation & Hours

Time commitment for this position will be flexible, but may require occasional evening and weekend commitments.  Compensation begins at $8.50 per hour with opportunities for hourly rate increases.
