Halloween Dance at the Regent Ballroom

Dancing Illini Halloween Dance

We will be hosting another social dance on 11/1 at the Channing Murray Foundation. Admission is FREE, food and drinks (nonalcoholic) will be served, donations are welcomed, and it will be on campus. There will also be a free 30-minute class on a TBD dance starting at 8:00 and the dance will start at 8:30. Feel free to invite your friends, the more the merrier. Costumes are highly encouraged.

The theme for our upcoming social dance is fall. There will be a free Rumba class just before the dance begins. Feel free to invite your friends, the more the merrier. Dress code is nice casual (i.e. no sweats, jeans are fine, a nice shirt or top is preferred). Donations are welcomed, and it will be on campus.

The 26th Annual Illini Dancesport Invitational will be held October 3-5, 2014 at the Illini Union in Urbana, IL. Dancing Illini is no longer sponsoring or otherwise involved with running this event. We wish the new organizers another quarter-century of success.

Free Weekly Practice is Thursdays 7:30-9:00 at the Illini Ballroom starting September 11.

Courses meet at the Illini Union Ballroom (second floor), on Green between Wright and Matthews in Urbana. There is no need to pre-register. No partner required. A $45 membership (or $50 membership if non-UIUC or $35 for returning students) includes any and all 11-week courses. Bring a friend and get $5 off each. Please be prepared to pay (cash, check, or credit cards) at the start of the first class (Sept 7 or Sept 11).

The DANCING ILLINI  invites you to join us for a 4^th of July Cookout.

When:  Friday, July 4^th from 5pm until 11pm

Why:  You like food.  We like you.  Summer is here, and we aren’t British.

What:  There will be some lawn chairs, but please bring your own seating if possible.  The grill will be ready to cook at around 5:30 pm. The club will provide buns, brats, beef burgers, turkey burgers, boca burgers, fruit & veggie trays, and some non-alcoholic beverages.  (Table service will also be supplied.)

We ALWAYS have plenty to eat; however, contributions of side dishes, salads, chips or desserts are welcome, but not necessary.

We encourage you to bring your friends and family along.  It’s a party, so the more the merrier.

WHERE: The home of Janice Mouschovias, 1303 E. Scovill St., Urbana.

1/2 block west of the Meijers store in Urbana (just west of Philo Rd. on Scovill.)

MTD will NOT be running that day!
