Wentao Zhang

Biography

Wentao Zhang is a graduate student in Mechanical Science and Engineering at UIUC. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Energy Engineering from Zhejiang University in 2013. He then joined the Aeroacoustics Lab led by Prof. Daniel Bodony in Aerospace Engineering at Illinois. Wentao received the 2011 and 2012 National Scholarship from China Education Ministry and the 2013 W. Grafton and Lillian B. Wilkins Fellowship from MechSE at Illinois.

Wentao has research experience in discontinuous Galerkin method (DGM), direct numerical simulation (DNS) of gas-particle flow and immersed boundary method (IBM). His current research is focused on High performance computing, heterogeneous computer (e.g., Intel Xeon Phi) and their applications on CFD.
