In the Astronomy Culture Journal Club (formerly known as Diversity Journal Club), the The Society for Equity in Astronomy invite all members of the Astronomy Department to participate in a monthly Journal Club focused on issues of diversity and inclusion in Astronomy, STEM, and/or academia. We will be meeting every 6 weeks. Each discussion will focus on a journal article, news article, or blog post on a select topic, such as Microaggressions, Impostor Syndrome, or Internalized Sexism.
Unlike typical Journal Club formats, our discussions are subject to several rules of moderation to ensure an equitable and respectful conversation. Attendees should come prepared to participate. We use specific guidelines regarding taking turns speaking and sharing ideas to promote everyone participating in the discussion. To review our discussion guidelines, please click here.
