Interest:
Evan has been the lab manager for the Mateus/Novakofski Wildlife Veterinary Epidemiology Laboratory since 2018. He has an interest in pursuing answers to questions about populations through sequencing and bioinformatics analysis. His previous work includes assembling a chromosome-scale of the white-tailed deer genome to enable future research of the genetic underpinnings of chronic wasting disease. He is currently pursuing his second degree with the Mateus/Novakofski and his dissertation work focusses on identifying genetic variation associated with advantage against disease and generating genome wide markers for measuring population relatedness.
