Interest

I’m a recent graduate from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where I earned a degree in Integrative Biology with a minor in Conservation Biology and Ecology. My academic background focused on ecosystem management and animal behavior, and I developed a strong interest in connecting laboratory research with hands-on fieldwork.

During my undergraduate studies, I worked as a student research assistant analyzing the impact of evolution on mammalian cerebral cortex cells, which drew me into studying wildlife specifically. In 2024, I joined the Wildlife Veterinary Epidemiology Laboratory, where I currently serve as a Laboratory Research Technician. I’ve especially enjoyed contributing to our team’s research and surveillance efforts on chronic wasting disease, as well as leading my own independent research projects.

I’m passionate about continuing in the field of epidemiological research and am considering pursuing a master’s degree in the near future.
