About

For your family. For your health. For our future.

Illinois United is the digital home for translational research designed to promote the health and well-being of families throughout the state of Illinois. We exist to help families just like yours.

Our programming, research, and resources aim to be both scientifically rigorous and practically relevant to the lives of Illinois residents. Currently, we are particularly focused on topics related to substance use as well as family relationships.

We are a collaborative team of University of Illinois faculty and Extension educators. Illinois United is directed by Dr. Allen W. Barton, an assistant professor and Extension specialist at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.

This initiative is sponsored by the University of Illinois Extension with additional support from the department of Human Development and Family Studies and College of ACES. The initiative was founded in 2020.

Whether it’s enrolling in programming, participating in data collection, or reading and sharing our resources, thank you for becoming part of the Illinois United team.
