Zihan Kan received the B.S. degree from Wuhan University, Wuhan, China, in 2014. She is currently a Ph.D student in the State Key Laboratory of Information Engineering in Surveying, Mapping and Remote Sensing, Wuhan University, and a visiting Ph.D student in the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Her research interests include Geographical information science, transportation GIS, spatiotemporal trajectory data analysis, and mining.

Li, Mengya

I am a Ph.D candidate of Physical Geography at East China Normal University. I am working on an interdisciplinary research to study the impacts of the pluvial flash flood (floods caused by extremely heavy rains in a short period of time) on urban traffic. My research concerns about the identification of vulnerable roads to both floods and traffic congestion, the change of travel behaviors, the rise of travel cost, and the accessibility to emergency facilities, etc. I use FloodMap to implement the hydrological-hydrodynamic modeling to generate flood scenarios, and the GIS methods to assess the impacts on social environments.

Ma, Jing

Ta, Na

–Affiliation

Associate professor at School of Geographic Sciences, East China Normal University

–Research Areas

My research interests include socio-spatial equity, human mobility, sustainable travel, modern lifestyle, and Danwei community in China. I am interested in understanding how social differences and built environment shape urban residents’ everyday behavior and use of urban space. My current research project is about individual space-time behavior and planning of life circle in suburban affordable housing communities in Shanghai, China. I have published over 30 peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters.

–Affiliation

Associate Professor
Department of Land Resource Management, School of Public Administration
Hohai University

–Research Areas

My research addresses land use policy, land use planning and land use change in China through the application of GIS methods. I am interested in examining the spatial pattern of urban land use change and exploring the spatial relationship between land use, population, and economy in China. I am also interested in understanding how urbanization and land transfer affect household’s land use behavior
