For those participants who wish to rent a bicycle or a car while they are in town, please see the following options. Champaign-Urbana is a small and very bike-friendly community. A car is not needed unless you wish to take a day trip over a free weekend.  If you do wish to rent a car, you may inquire as to a parking space at Preby Hall. Presby Hall also provides bike parking spaces.

Public Transportation:

Champaign-Urbana has a very good public transportation system. The 22 Illini Bus is free with a university ID card and stops at almost every corner on campus. Other buses will cost $1 for each ride. For more information on the bus system see: http://www.cumtd.com/

Phones:

We highly recommend using an internet service such as Skype to make international calls at low rates. You can sign up for Skype credit at any time and place inexpensive international phone calls from your computer. For more information see: http://www.skype.com/en/

Participants will be receiving a Tracfone to use as a cell during their time here. The cell phone will come with a predetermined amount of minutes. Participants may purchase more minute cards at local stores. Participants will return the phone at the end of their stay.
