A collaborative space on The *New* Diptera Site has been reserved for the Tabanidae for the use of the broader community of tabanid workers and enthusiasts interested in creating species pages and recording other observations for and about the fly family, Tabanidae. These efforts join those of the FLYTREE Diptera Tree of Life project, which also is using the EDIT (European Distributed Institute of Taxonomy) Scratchpads to create species pages that will eventually integrate with other efforts such as the Encyclopedia of Life.
