Biography

I am a Mechanical Engineering Ph.D. candidate at University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. I work with the Computational Multiscale Nanosystems group at Beckman DE_2016_GRADInstitute for Advanced Science and Technology. My research focuses on studying various energy loss mechanisms at mega-to-gigahertz frequencies in micro-to-nanometer length vibrating structures. The objective is to understand the underlying physics and develop computational models for dissipation over multiple length scales.

Research interest

Nanoscale dissipation, nanoscale thermomechanics, lattice dynamics, elastodynamics and vibration, thermal transport, stochastic modeling, atomistic and continuum simulations, multiscale modeling.

Research approach

Theory, Classical Molecular dynamics (MD) and Continuum Numerical Methods.
