SWIP’s Mission Statement
The mission of the Society for Women in Physics (SWIP) is to provide a social and professional network among the women and gender minority students in the physics department in order to empower them throughout their career. SWIP provides opportunities for its members to interact with other physics students, faculty, and the community in social, academic, and philanthropic events.
We host meetings with faculty and visiting speakers, attend conferences for women and gender minorities in physics across the Midwest, and participate in local outreach to further promote equality in the physical sciences. All people are welcome regardless of major or gender identity!
