About us

The Social Dynamics of Language Variation and Change Reading Group/IPRH Seminar started in the 2000s as a platform to discuss recently published work in sociolinguistics. At the beginning of each semester, members meet and select the articles or book chapters that they would like to discuss. Participants are encouraged to present their research and practice their papers or posters before going to a conference. Workshops on the use of technology for linguistic research are offered on a regular basis by members or guest speakers.

The reading group is organized by Profs. Salvatore Callesano (Spanish & Portuguese), Anna María Escobar (Spanish & Portuguese), and Zsuzsanna Fagyal (French & Italian).
