Welcome to Rising Stars 2019

Rising Stars is an intensive workshop for women graduate students and postdocs who are interested in pursuing academic careers in computer science, computer engineering and electrical engineering. Launched at MIT in 2012, the annual event has since been hosted at the University of California at Berkeley, Carnegie Mellon University, MIT and Stanford University. The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign is delighted to host the 2019 workshop. This year, we are excited to welcome 90 Rising Stars participants, the largest class of participants to date!

PLEASE NOTE: On November 9-10, 2020, the University of California, Berkeley will virtually host the Rising Stars 2020 Academic Career Workshop for Women in EECS. Please visit the workshop website or email risingstars@lists.eecs.berkeley.edu for more information.

“The Rising Stars workshop was an incredible opportunity to learn from the best of the best in academia, interact with phenomenal mentors, and connect with outstanding peers.”

– Illinois CS Assistant Professor Dakshita Khurana
