Building Modelling, System Evaluation, and Performance Analysis

Dr. Yun Kyu Yi and his team at RAL (Responsive Architecture Lab) collaborated with CEBD (Center for Environmental Building and Design) at the University of Pennsylvania, and UrbSys Lab at the University of Florida received a fund from the Daikin Open Innovation Lab Silicon Valley to research on Advanced Building Thermal Modeling. Project use machine learning and other inverse modeling technic to develop building energy model from Ecobee smart thermostat dataset.

TIE for Rhino

TIE ( Tensegrity Integration Element) for Rhino is a tool to design tensegrity structure system.

Tensegrity structure is composed by cable and strut. The cable of the structure is under tension and the structs are under compression.

Among Tensegrity structure system, Simplex and Rhombic system, were chosen to develop for this tool.

TIE is developed by RAL Team (Zhanpeng Liu and Professor Yun Kyu Yi)
