40+ people joined with us for brush burning last Saturday in SAW. It was really fun, and we have gained a lot of hands-on ecological experiences!

Our members went to SAW to do INaturalist Tree Catalog Brunch last Saturday. Here are some species we have documented.

Red Bison members went down to Homer Lake Prairie Restoration field, cutting down many aggressive autumn olives. It was a hot day, but everyone did a great job!!!

October 9th, 2021

Red Bison members worked together on this day to collect tons of native prairie seeds that were ready for harvest all throughout the prairie in between the Red Bison work shed and the Pollinatarium. We collected species such as Indian Grass, Big Bluestem, Bottlebrush, Compass Plant, and more!


October 2nd, 2021

Entomologist Jake Dixon found and identified various insect species throughout the South Arboretum Woods, teaching Red Bison members about their ecology along the way. Photographs were taken by Red Bison member Connor Ross.

Summer 2021

Red Bison members helped clear an area of plant debris next to the Red Bison Work Shed at the South Arboretum Woods in order to establish a fire pit in the future for social events.
