Project Welcome: Libraries Serving Refugees and Asylum Seekers Summit

Join us for an opportunity to learn about and contribute to the development of national recommendations and an action plan on information resources, services, training, and research needed to support the resettlement and integration of refugees and asylum seekers in the United States.  You will hear from US and international librarians, international and national governmental agencies, and domestic resettlement and mutual assistance services, learn from posters describing best practices and research, and engage in discussions with others interested in serving refugees.

Refund Policy:
A refund of $180 USD (or its equivalent in international currency conversions) will be issued for refund requests received at projectwelcome01@gmail.com by January 25, 2017; 5 pm CT.  $20 will be charged as a processing fee.  There will be no refunds after this date, but the registration may be transferred to someone else to participate if the request is made to projectwelcome01@gmail.com by Wednesday, February 1, 2017.

CALL FOR POSTERS

Are you delivering innovative and successful library-based programs or services for refugees and asylum seekers?  Have you conducted research on the library and information needs of refugees and asylum seekers?

You are invited to submit a poster proposal to present and share your best practices or research with attendees at the Project Welcome: Libraries Serving Refugees and Asylum Seekers Summit, February 6, 2016.  All poster presenters need to register for the Summit.

Proposal Submissions

Please complete the online application form http://tinyurl.com/pw-summit-posterproposal by December 14, 2016 for initial consideration. Poster proposals may continue to be submitted for consideration until January 26, 2017 or until space permits.

  • Applicants submitting poster proposals by December 14, 2016 will be informed of final selections by December 20, 2016.
