Please note: due to inclement weather, this event is being postponed to a different day. We will post details when the event’s date has been rescheduled.
Date: Wednesday June 18
Time: 8:00PM CST
Audience: Public (All Ages)
Location: Anita Purves Nature Center (Urbana, IL)
Description: Come to Busey Woods to enjoy the natural world at night! We will meet at the Anita Purves Nature Center at 8:00 pm and set up a sheet lighting activity for when we return from our hike. The sheet will attract night pollinators such as moths and beetles that we can view and identify. We can record observations to the Illinois Pollinator Week iNaturalist Community Science Project, Pollinator Quest. We will also learn about how humans are affecting these underappreciated pollinators as we hike through the woods. Bring a flashlight and your favorite bug spray (we will also supply some). All ages are welcome; wear good hiking shoes and long pants.
