Description: Zotpress brings publication broadcasting and scholarly blogging to WordPress through Zotero, a free, cross-platform reference manager.
Creator’s site: Zotero reference management website and Zotpress plugin
How to use Zotpress:
You will need:
A Zotero account (either for an individual user or a group)
References in that Zotero account that you want to display in an organized fashion in WordPress
The Zotpress plugin (on PIE, it’s available by request only — submit a ticket to ask for Zotpress on your own PIE site)
If you’re using a custom domain like yoursite.illinois.edu rather than a Publish domain like publish.illinois.edu/yoursite, mention your custom domain in your ticket in order to update the domain Zotpress will expect to interact with.
Initial setup:
Zotpress will check connections and guide you through entering your account API key and a private key.
If you install as an individual user who is also a member of a group, you can choose whether you want to provide read-only or read-write access to any groups you are a member of.
In the Options section, you can choose a default bibliography format such as APA, MLA, Chicago, and more.
Generating references:
Choose what information you’d like to display in what methods: Standalone Information, In-Line References, and/or Library.
(In Classic mode) Use the Zotpress Reference widget at the top right of your editor window to generate a shortcode for the content you want to display. (In Block mode) Use the Zotpress Reference widget in the Page or Post sidebar of your block editor window. The interface is the same and the shortcodes will be the same.
For a selected bibliography example:
Search for a term or an author (in this case, wombats)
Select the items you want to include
Configure any display options desired in the Options area
Generate a shortcode
Use the shortcode in a page or post (as below).
