The Philippines observe Rice Awareness Month throughout November as nationally over 480,000 tons of raw rice is wasted every year. Millers are pushing for improved rice milling facilities, as many are over 70 years old and others are using 50-year old technology that recovers only 50% of processed grain. Drying and milling have PHL of 36% and 34%, respectively.
