The Africa Rice Center launched a project, ‘Support to Rice Research in Africa’ initiative, focusing on 8 countries to improve the quality and marketability of rice. Smallholders, processors, and local households will all be targeted for training in technologies and best practices. If the project achieves 10 percent reduction of PHL, it will help increase farmers’ income by USD 32 million by 2020.
