DeStress Fest
Are upcoming finals stressing you out? Do you feel like you need a break before finishing out the semester strong? You are in luck, because our popular end-of-the-year tradition, De-Stress Fest, is back on May 4th from noon-9pm! We are prepared for lots of fun activities, food, animals, and more! Stop by the first floor of the Main Library for stress relieving activities like pet rocks, button making, guided drawing, brain breaks with the Writers Workshop, a silent dance party, and more. Do you like being outside? Partake in outdoor meditation or lawn games, such as croquet, lawn darts, hula hoops, and bubbles! Love animals? Meet ambassador animals from Vet Med’s Wildlife Medical Clinic. Are you a gamer? Stop by in the evening to challenge your friends to a round in Mario Kart, Super Smash Bros, or Mario Party. Hungry? We’ll be handing out care packages throughout the day, and donuts in the evening. Plan out your day by looking at the full schedule for the Main Library here: https://uiuc.libcal.com/event/10657440

Studying at a different library on Reading Day? Check out De-Stress Fest activities at these locations: Funk ACES Library, from 2pm – 2 am; Grainger Engineering Library from 12 pm – 9 pm; and Social Sciences, Health, and Education Library (SSHEL), from 9 am – 10 pm. We hope to see you there!

Service Spotlight

Did you know you the Library has discipline specific subject specialists? While the information desk is the place to go to get you started with your research or general library questions, a subject specialist can provide more in-depth support. We like to think of our colleagues as superheroes, and to help highlight this service we’ve created collectable superhero trading cards featuring Library employees. You can learn all about their super powers, secret identity, and the location of their lair (as well as other contact information). You can find the cards just to the left of the information desk, or near the pop-up collections in the Orange Room. Collect them while you can!
