Our research group has an expertise in the use of stable isotopes as tracers to investigate the human metabolic response to exercise and nutrition. We investigate endpoints on a whole body and a cellular level, with a major emphasize on skeletal muscle tissue. In addition, we conduct prolonged exercise and nutrition-based interventions to assess their impact on physical performance and health.
We have an interest in both sports and clinical nutrition based protocols and use a variety of human models to assess our outcomes including: athletes, aging, obesity, and chronic metabolic disease-states.
