Biography

Md Istiaque Ahmed is a graduate of the University of Dhaka from the department of Nuclear Engineering. After completing his undergraduate, he has started as a Ph.D. student at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) from Fall 2022. He is working as a research assistant at the Socio-Technical Risk Analysis (SoTeRiA) Research Laboratory. He received his bachelor’s degree in Nuclear Engineering at the University of Dhaka in 2021. During that time his did his thesis on analysis of neutronic parameters of accident tolerant fuel claddings using the lattice code DRAGON. He is the recipient of National Science and Technology Fellowship offered by the Ministry of Science and Technology of the Government of People’s Republic of Bangladesh. For the completion of his degree, he also had to complete a mandatory industrial training at the Centre for Research Reactor (CRR) division at the Atomic Energy Research Establishment (AERE) under Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission (BAEC) during which he got hands on experience with the TRIGA Mark-II research reactor. He also received the Undergraduate Scholarship of the University of Dhaka for securing the 1st merit place during his freshman year.
