How to solve it? Renewable energies

From the views of Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy/ Green Energy system have the following benefit, especially for the third world countries.

1. They are eco-friendly, the third world countries no doubt have more environmental values since there are not many heavy industries, therefore, developing renewable energy will not harm anything environmentally but still provide sufficient energy needed for regular usage.

2. For basic house-hold energy system, renewable energy is easy to install, and economical. With very little government financial aid (initial investment) a single house hold will be able to provide their own need for electricity.

3. Withhold electricity issues been solved, government will be able to concentrate their limited electricity generation capability to industry use, which will create a chain reaction to re-boost the country economy. Therefore, make people live better.

Renewable energies are promising industries and enterprises if it is fully supported and funded by the government and industries. The natural resources are reliable for storage and transportation with high energy density per volume, but have limited amount and will be depleted eventually. The use of natural resources like coal and oil also poses a great threat to the environment, and already has begun affecting the ecosystem and the climate change. Many countries have realized this, and have begun investing in the research of green energy. For example, China is marginally self-sufficient in oil, but will be importing 9 million barrels per day by 2027 due to high usage [1]. In order to prepare for that future, it has been the biggest investor in the renewable energy industry throughout the entire world [2]. The countries that suffer from the lack of natural resources like those in Europe already are the established leaders in wind turbines [3]. If the third world countries will eventually lack in natural resources to rely on, they will have to start investing in renewable energy to not only be self-sufficient, but also become the exporter, as South Korea projects to do so by exporting into the renewable energy market and aiming for 10% of the global renewable energy market by 2020 [3].

Therefore, in term of a homemade project, we will be constructing a solar tracing device using easily accessible and economical parts. Since the main difficulty for third world countries is obviously money.  Renewable energy is the perfect solution to that problem.  Of course it is not always that easy to produce a cheap renewable energy source.  We briefly thought to use windmills.  It is a good idea, but it is not that cheap.  It costs too much money to build.  We really wanted something that would be inexpensive and easy to make.  Next, we thought of the solar panel.  Solar panels are decently cheap to come by and they were easy to use.  The main difficulty with using a solar panel is being able to use the sun to its full advantage.  Thus, we thought of a solar tracker.  A solar panel that would track the suns motion.  Therefore, we would get the full effect of the sun on the solar panel throughout the entire day. In the next section (Project) we will describe our project in finer details.
