To connect scientific knowledge in different disciplines to discover and translate lifestyle approaches to improve physical and cognitive health across the lifespan

One Mind, One Body, One Science

About Us

The Neurocognitive Health Behavior Lab is a research laboratory within the Department of Kinesiology and Community Health at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Our laboratory utilises a multidisciplinary approach to integrate knowledge in dietetics, body composition, and cognitive neuroscience to understand the interactions between lifestyle behaviours, abdominal adiposity, and brain health in the pediatric and adult population.

Our Research

Our research focuses on understanding how nutrition, physical activity, and body composition collectively impact brain health. By exploring the dynamic interactions between these factors, we aim to uncover insights that promote cognitive function and mental well-being across the lifespan.
