The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign became the site of one of the newest chapters of the Minorities and Philosophy (MAP) organization on November 21st, 2019. We will begin hosting events in the Spring 2020 semester. Our first event will be an Information Night for undergraduate students to learn more about what MAP is, and our chapter’s goals and foci.
Along with our informational event, we hope to host events such as social nights, roundtable discussions, workshops, and other events that address (a) minority issues in the profession, (b) theoretical issues regarding philosophy of gender, race, sexual orientation, class, disability, native language, etc., and (c) philosophy done from minority perspectives.
On this website, and our social media accounts (coming soon!), we’ll post information about our upcoming events, as well as calls for papers for conferences and journals, articles of interest, links to useful resources, and announcements about relevant events hosted by other organizations and institutions.
