Yuyang Rao is a graduate student in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She received her B.S. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2015 and started her master program in 2015 with a concentration in structural engineering. Her research focuses on discrete dynamic modeling of velocity weakening friction and rate and state friction.
