Mohamed Abdelmeguid

I am currently a PhD candidate working at the Mechanics of Complex systems lab at the University of Illinois Civil and Environmental Engineering Department. My research focuses on the development of physics-based numerical models to study the nature of dynamic fracture and frictional sliding. My work aims to develop computationally efficient methods to study natural phenomena such as earthquakes and tsunamis with the objective of understanding the role of nonlinearity on the physics governing the frictional processes.
